Magnus Carlsen is the 2022 World Rapid Champion after finishing half a point clear of Vincent Keymer and Fabiano Caruana. He looked to be cruising until he blundered and lost to Vladislav Artemiev, but Keymer, who took silver, missed a win that would have forced a playoff. The Women’s title was decided in a playoff, where Tan Zhongyi beat Dinara Saduakassova. 15-year-old Indian prodigy Savitha Shri snatched bronze.
