Kenshin Himura, born Shinta, is the main protagonist of the manga and anime series, Rurouni Kenshin. Having been trained since he was a child in the ways of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū, Kenshin was a prodigious swordsman who fought as a patriot in the Meiji Revolution, under the title of the legendary Hitokiri Battōsai.
