Lou Henson's 1988-1989 Flyin' Illini team is one of the greatest Illinois teams in the history of the school. Led by Kendall Gill, Nick Anderson and Kenny Battle the Illini went 31-5 and reached the Final Four. During that special season the Illini defeated 12 ranked teams including wins over #10 Missouri, #3 Indiana, and #8 Michigan.
