Esther Mikaelson was a powerful witch and the mother to Freya, Finn, Elijah, Niklaus, Kol, Rebekah and Henrik. She is also the wife of Mikael and was the younger sister of Dahlia. She cast the immortality spell on her children and they became the first vampires. She comes back to life to right her wrongs, but ultimately killed again and buried in New Orleans.
